So, my sister. . . .

I'm sure you all are aware that I have a twin. A twin, seven years apart. But for the average person, those seven years go unnoticed, and we are commonly mistaken for eachother. . . the perfect example:

Two weeks ago when said twin came to visit me in Chicago with mom, Granny and Grampa, we took a little trip to the Apple store, where Grampa leaned into said twin's ear, thinking it was me and accidentally gave away his intended Christmas Gift Surprise for said twin. Several other times through out the trip, the same thing happened, leaving poor Grampa with the most confounded look on his face. Ahhh, our parent's narrow genetic pool has resulted in a fun little party trick!

Anyway, my beloved twin and I have a very distinguishable difference, only detected with audio sensory perception. She has the most lovely soprano voice, one that has had years of classical training that my voice severely lacks. She sent this beautiful track over and I am oohing over it's lusciousness!! And I thought the world needed to know. So here. . . please savor in the ooey gooey loveliness of my twin's rendition of "That's Him" by Kurt Weill. Yummy!
(you must click the link to listen)

PS- I am counting down the days til I see my crazy twin sis and family!
Here's the countdown clock to prove it!

Ellipse | I'm already obsessed!

As most of you are aware. . .
I am a bit obsessed with

Imogen Heap.
You most likely know her as a member of Frou Frou
and the song "Let Go" on The Garden State soundtrack.

But I know her as the soundtrack to my life.
I became aware of her back in 2005.
Ever since then, I have had a playlist on my ipod called
"Immy"
featuring songs that she either wrote or collaborated on.
I own every song she has ever put out,
I watched her Vblogs religiously,
and have been counting down the days to the release of her new album.

She has given me the best news ever today. . .
She is streaming her new album.
I have been listening to it all night, and I am absolutely

IN Love!!!
Check her out, and catch the addiction!

I'm Kind of A Big Deal. . . in Japan

So, remember how I told all ya'll about a show I put together in New York. Well, I never got around to posting the videos. . . til now.

So, for your enjoyment, here are a few of my faves.
It was such an amazing time, and I am so grateful to my talented sista's for doing this with me!
(Christine Dwyer, Lara Janine & my ru-bu-fu Jen Talton)
And none of this would have happened without the incomparable Katie Thompson, who astonishes me every day (did I mention last week she performed at the White House for the First Lady and the New Cabinet? Yeah, I know her!)
Oh, and of course I must shout out to Barbara Anselmi who stepped in to play for half our show the night before the concert!!! Thank you Thank you!
So, without further adieu. . .

Our opening Number, was an idea in my head that was genius-ly brought to life by Katie and the girls. . .

Here's my emotional moment. . . a pop cover written by Marie Digby, it's "Miss Invisible:

Lara and I both played Elphaba in Wicked in Japan. So, we decided to battle it out to discover who is "The Best Elphaba Ever."

We decided to pay tribute to the iconic and life altering music of En Vogue. . . of course in our signature style!

I wasn't going to post this because I'm a perfectionist, but this one's for Erin. It's a little song for my family's new settlement in the Pacific Northwest. I may not drink it, but it sure is funny.
Here's Starbucks, by Michael Mahler:

Closing out the show, we had to give it up for our genius musical director KT!
So, here with one of her original songs is "I Will. . . (Kick Your A**)"
Disclaimer: This song has minor profanities that may not be suitable for all audiences. . . ie to my nieces and nephews, stop watching now ;)

Act of Kindness #4

Today was the second day of the General Conference of my church. I felt so incredibly uplifted and inspired and overwhelmed today. I am so grateful to have been able to watch it at home with my family around me!

Okay, on to the kindness. I love music. So, today I decided to take four of my all time favorite songs and share them. I sent them as gifts from iTunes, and emailed them anonymously to people I know that I selected at random. Have a listen and a Lovely Day!

Incase you are wondering, these are the songs:
Can't Take It In by Imogen Heap
Across The Universe (written by the Beatles) by Rufus Wainwright
Hope for Me Yet by Marc Broussard
Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts

Welcome Mr. President

I'm watching the inauguration of our new President, Barrack Obama, and just completely overwhelmed by the power of this moment. I just listened to the most incredible arrangement of Air and Simple Gifts played by some of the most remarkable musicians of our time, and was moved by the beauty of it. John Williams' brilliant arrangement I hope will soon be in my catalog of favorites on my ipod.
. . .
His speech was tempered yet filled with passion and hope. I, with so many others today, feel a bit more brightness of hope. And I eagerly look forward to seeing what we can do as a nation with President Obama guiding our course.
. . .
On a slightly more superficial note- How great did Malia and Sasha look in their J.Crew Coats with satin sashes? And the First Lady looked great as well in her ambitious ly regal chartreuse ensemble! I am not-so-secretly loving the fun fashion of politics!

ps- my roommate is somewhere in this photo!
She was blessed to be able to get tickets to the
inauguration, and has now been a 1st hand
witness to this piece of history! I can't wait til
she gets home to tell me all about it!
