Blog Remuneration!

So folks, it's true.
I have sinned in the world of blogging.
I have fallen desperately behind, and even skipped over important events in the last six months.
I must repent.
In the coming weeks, I will be remunerating my blog readers, dishing out the servings as fast as I can cook 'em up.
Henceforth, I hope you shall forgive me.

But they are MASSIVE!!!
(The Chicago has 3,600 seats, The Beacon 2,600!)

So, in conclusion. . .
Ya'll better be coming to see my show!!!

The Roommie!!

The day before I left New York to start this big adventure I'm currently experiencing, I took an afternoon with my darling diva of a roommie, Jen. We met a few years ago as back-up singers for an incredible dancer / choreographer turned R&B sensation MO'AT (aka Tim Stevenson).

(You can briefly see us up close at 3:36)

I remember back then I always had to sing the higher harmony because she swore up and down that she was "An Alto." Shortly after I started taking voice lessons from the radical Michael Goodrich, I got her in for a lesson. By the second lesson, Michael made me come in to hear what she'd been working on. She proceeds to sing, "The Phaaaaaaaaaaatom of the Opera!" . . . you know, that famously really really really high SOPRANO role! Needless to say, she has since continued to develop that range. We regularly getting in contests to see who can hit the highest note in our apartment. . . now, she always wins.

So, not only does she have way more range than me, she also is incredibly beautiful, and Multi-ethnic, which is like a lottery ticket in the entertainment industry! I regularly express my jealous over her ethnic ambiguity, but in reality I have nothing but love for this extraordinary woman!

This Week At The Circus!

The Body || Kerry Brown

Right before I left New York to begin rehearsal for Cirque du Soleil,
I had just enough time to do a few last photoshoots!
As you know, I worked on and off for Lululemon Athletica for the last two years. During my time there, I was lucky enough to work with the amazing Brown sisters! Kerry and Tracy and some of the most vibrant wonderful women you could ever know, who completely embody the Lululemon spirit. When you work for Lulu, you do a lot of goal setting. . . You start off by asking yourself the question :
If you could do anything without fear of failing, what would you do?
When Kerry asked herself that question recently, she realized she should be modeling. . . Fitness Modeling!
And I think she's on to something! Sister, Tracy, came along for moral support (and helped out a bit too!) The fabulous Shane Terenzi hooked Kerry up with fabulous hair & makeup (and body oil to boot!) We shot at the awesome Riverbank Park, which is right across the street from my NYC apartment.

We decided to go for a walk through the sprinklers. The kids were full of questions. . .


And then, the kids turned on us, and sprayed the water right at her! The little girl's reaction in the foreground is priceless! My favorite shot of the day!

Jumping for Joy! Christine & Michelle

You may recognize Christine from a certain cabaret a few months ago! Yes, like me, Christine Dwyer is Kind of a Big Deal. . . in Japan. She toured as Maureen in Rent, and recently made her off Broadway debut in The New Hopeville Comics (and made me tear up during her gut wrenching song near the end!)
She called me a few weeks ago and set up a shoot to split with Michelle Guadalupe. The two of these girls kept me giggling all day long as I asked them to jump in the middle of the street, climb on yellow pipes, and smile for the camera! Michelle's infectious laugh made my job a breeze!

I've Run Away With the Circus!!!

Have you heard?
I've Run Away with the Circus!!!
Cirque du Soleil, to be exact! And the verdict is in. . . I'm in love with this company! I'm part of the original cast of Vaudeville (which will receive it's official name later this year), which will be come to New York in 2010!!

Today was the first day of school. . . Circus School!
I arrived at the Cirque du Soleil compound here in Montreal, and was blown away!
The people are all so delightfully kind and helpful, and facilities beautiful, and the amenities. . . Whoa, Nelly, I feel spoiled already!! Pilates and Yoga every day before rehearsal, full time on staff Physical Therapists/ Trainers, everything I could possibly need!
I can't wait to get started rehearsing on Wednesday!

I will be posting the little bits that I can, and fellow circus peep, Alex will be video blogging about us all! I'll post her first blog-cast later this week! Until then, imagine me juggling, tapping, and sliding down a vertically rotating stage. . . Pretty fierce, eh? Just a sample of what's to come!

Solo: Tara Sweeney

She dances, she laughs, she sings, and she delights!
Tara Sweeney is one of the most darling of girls, and talented to boot.
We met on a road trip to Philly earlier this year, and I've been charmed ever since!
The rain threatened to put a damper on our shoot all day, but in the end, created a magical light that kept us dancing in the grass even when the rain started up again!
Her stunning red hair and sparkling aqua eyes have me mesmerized!










Nothing makes me happier that point shoes in inappropriate places!
My ballet teacher Miss Sheila would be cringing at the following shots :)
