Finley has been making audiences laugh in such Broadway shows as 'The Wedding Singer' (Linda) 'Aida' (Amneris), 'Forbidden Broadway', Smokey Joe's Café, and 'The LIfe' (April),pre-Broadway 'Catch Me If You Can'. In 2009, Felicia found herself touring the United States with the show Happy Days as Pinky (developed by Garry Marshall.) The album is being critically praised as a "relevant, incendiary rock effort that firmly brands Finley as a significant rock talent". Last summer she played opposite Andre' De Shields as 'Lola' in "Damn Yankees" and was currently starring in the musical adaptation of the movie, "Saved" at Kansas City Repertory. The Wicked Truth: Omaha

A while back, I blogged about a book event I was doing in Omaha, NB
for the incredibly insightful book, The Wicked Truth.

Since Omaha is not too far from Kansas City, I decided to spend a little time with my extraordinary Granny and Grandpa Deal!
They are the coolest people, and my biggest fans!

We ate lots of delicious food ( a special family talent ) and had lots of time just talking and catching up.
Granny Nikki grabbed a few shots of me performing.
Here are a few from the trip!

Chatting with the wonderful Suzanne Ross about her incredible book!

Be sure to check it out here!

And a few out-to-eat shots with Granny Nikki and Grampa Bob in Kansas City.

Have you noticed her fabulous jewelry? She is never without the perfect accessories!
I can only hope to be half as stylish when I grow up!

I've Run Away With the Circus!!!

Have you heard?
I've Run Away with the Circus!!!
Cirque du Soleil, to be exact! And the verdict is in. . . I'm in love with this company! I'm part of the original cast of Vaudeville (which will receive it's official name later this year), which will be come to New York in 2010!!

Today was the first day of school. . . Circus School!
I arrived at the Cirque du Soleil compound here in Montreal, and was blown away!
The people are all so delightfully kind and helpful, and facilities beautiful, and the amenities. . . Whoa, Nelly, I feel spoiled already!! Pilates and Yoga every day before rehearsal, full time on staff Physical Therapists/ Trainers, everything I could possibly need!
I can't wait to get started rehearsing on Wednesday!

I will be posting the little bits that I can, and fellow circus peep, Alex will be video blogging about us all! I'll post her first blog-cast later this week! Until then, imagine me juggling, tapping, and sliding down a vertically rotating stage. . . Pretty fierce, eh? Just a sample of what's to come!

The WICKED Truth: When good people do bad things!

Coming up very soon, I will perform two shows in promotion of the book:
The WICKED Truth,
When good people do bad things
by Suzanne Ross

We have been gearing up to do these events for nearly 6 months now, and I am so delighted to be heading out to the midwest on this mini-book tour!

The two dates are :

Friday, May 15th, 7pm
The Cooking Studio at Whole Foods Market
Metcalf, 7401 W. 91st Street, Overland Park, KS 66212

Saturday, May 16th, 2-4pm
Barnes and Noble Booksellers,
3333 Oakview Drive, Omaha, NE 68144
phone: 402.691.4557.

It will be just me on the 15th, and the author, Suzanne Ross, will join me for the event on the 16th. She has written an incredible book that really helps to understand the deeper themes of the musical WICKED, and has given me an even deeper appreciation for it's parallel's to my own life! I will be performing several songs from WICKED as well as discussing the book and my experiences with the show.

If you are anywhere near these locations, I'd love for you to come out. There is no charge, but seating is limited so you should arrive early. The book will be available for purchase there, and Suzanne and I will be available for autographs following the event. I look forward to seeing you there!

Sarah Fitchner

As promised, here is the video of me performing at Monday Night New Voices, last week.
This song, written by the ridiculously amazing Ryan Scott Oliver, about a "disenfranchised" girl dealing with the mean girls in her life.
*Warning* There are so not so innocent words in this song, which might not be appropriate for the young'ens!

The New Song Project

So, last Monday night was the culmination of several months of planning and organizing and a few weeks of stress to boot.
The New Song Project was a concert that I organized, directed and performed in, and I have to say. . . it was a total hit! With 22 incredible USJ performers blowing down the house and a huge crowd of nearly 300 people, the night was truly something spectacular.
Movieman was on hand to film the concert, as was his assistant Ryoko who was following me around through out the night filming me as I prepped the performers, watched from the wings and getting myself ready to go.
Here for your viewing pleasure is 3 clips of me from the concert.

( If you would like to watch the whole concert, you can do so by clicking here and watching it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/MoviemanPJC
)

This is "I'm Not Pregnant," by the ridiculously amazing Katie Thompson. I strongly recommend you all check out her album on iTunes, and for those of you in LA, her show RRREDDD is still running for one more week!

This is "Lost at Sea" a duet with my fellow Elphie, Charity Smith. It's a song about female Pirates in the times of Shakespeare and is written by good friend Danny Larsen.

This is the final number of the concert. I am singing "The Distance You Have Come" by the incredible Scott Alan. The entire cast of the show is thundering in chorus behind me. The power of their voices, the audience so in it with us, and everything about that moment was just incredible, and about half way through the song I get a bit choked up and can't sing. But we finish and it was just magic.
